Mr. Hilton is a US patent attorney who focuses his practice on patent procurement and intellectual property analysis. His areas of expertise include patent application preparation and prosecution, patent infringement and clearance investigations, and intellectual property due diligence for IP acquisitions and licenses. He also assists clients with trademark prosecution, invalidity and freedom-to-operate opinions, and intellectual property litigation.
Mr. Hilton has represented clients in a wide variety of electrical and mechanical technologies, including wireless and cellular communication, data encryption, sensors, electrical power management, software and business methods, cryogenics, medical devices, and manufacturing processes. Mr. Hilton has served clients both large and small, including large multi-national technology companies, colleges and universities, start-ups, and independent inventors.
In addition to his patent prosecution practice, Mr. Hilton is an experienced patent searcher. He began his career performing patent landscape searches at the United States Patent and Trademark Office’s state-of-the-art search facility in Alexandria, Virginia, and he continues to conduct patentability, freedom-to-operate, and validity searches for clients both at the USPTO and remotely.
